Late to my research materials, I'd wondered whether to correct
this to reflect the fact that Pluto has recently (1999) passed
from inside the orbit of Neptune. It's closer to 30 AU, plus
maybe another 10% for moving out through 2015. Then I realized
my "margin of error" is three times the distance from the Earth
to the Sun, and decided the above was close enough.
One interesting thing I turned up: Neptune was discovered in
1846, and it has an orbital period of 164.8 years. Its
"Neptunian Anniversary" will be coming up in 2010 or 2011.
Somebody should be making plans.
