I don't think it works. On a similar timescale, Google Groups
Disallows "Reply" to older articles. I think.
Which is actually a good thing. After the "Beta" GG rolled out, there
was a rash of GG users finding old threads and replying to years-old
posts as if they were recent. Confusing and annoying.
What Steve should have done was cut and paste a bit of the old post to
provide context, or summarized his original thoughts.
Agreed that that would have been helpful - which is more than we were
in the first place. I suppose he really had forgotten quite how long
it'd been. And on my screen everyone uses the same typeface, which is
confusiog. :-)
And he'd have nto keep the article himself. A link to the original
Google version would also be useful, though - to see how quickly the
actual basis of discussion, the question, was forgotten - but some
people dodobject to Google philosophically.
