Some places have that internet port blocked these days. My
organization does that. I may have to plug the iPhone into my PC in

Unless they physically disabled it, it should still work. The normal IT
solution is to logically disable it (much easier to role out a policy
update then to physical modify every machine) which leaves it still
working electrically; you just cannot access it.
