Using that chart, I'd reckon that environmentalists only have to admit
they caused at most 28 percent of the US's share of global warming,
assuming uniform usage over the given time. There are way to many
simplifying assumptions to make it precise, but I suspect it's ballpark.
As an uppere bound; it'd actually be less, since it's unlikely
nuclear power would immediately support the entire grid load
for economic merits if it weren't opposed by FUD.
Of course, if one really wanted to be *aggressive* and totally phase
out any use of fossil fuels, it probably could have been done over that
time period, and electric cars and so on and so on. But environmentalists
don't need to take the rap for that, since even if they'd been eager to
push nuclear power, I doubt people would have gone along with that radical
a change. I mean, geez, we don't even do what in theory we could *now*
by draconian measures, let alone immediately then.
Hm. Draconian measures. How many BTUs in dragon's breath anyways?
Stop! Peter Time!
I'm a big shot! Theres no doubt!
Lite a fire, then pee it out!
Don't like it? Kiss my rump!
Just for a minute, lets all do the bump!
