Gee, ya think?
since you best know your own conscience.
However, I seem to recall you acknowledging that you wanted to write
more science fiction but for the market, and that you didn't start out
wanting to write yet more dragon stories but tried something a bit more
different at first with a basilisk.
So the $64,000 question is how many compromises does one make before one
becomes a sell-out. The answer is blowing in the wind.
You're not a professional writer, are you?
That was a rhetorical question.
Well, if you have to explain it then it rather spoils the effect.
I was raised by a professional writer (albeit one who was never better
than mid-list at best) and I can state unequivocally that "selling out"
never entered into it, even for an instant.
Good for him (though perhaps that's why he remainded at mid-list).
Too bad I can't say the same for some members of my family.
You're full of it.
I wish. I just saw Clara Bow on DVD last night and she gives Louise
Brooks a run for her money.
