Staying up late to read just one more page, well just to the end of
this chapter, is nothing new for me -- over forty years ago I got my
first hangover by trying to read the Foundation Trilogy all in one
night.

What's new is that _Horizon_ it kept me up past my bedtime twice *in
the same day*.

But then that did have to wait until I started needing a nap after
lunch.

I'm terrible for reading into the night. I like to read in bed until I can't keep my eyes open any more, but I hate the radio on when I'm trying to go to sleep. Himself likes to listen to the radio as he's falling asleep and can't sleep if there's even a small glow from a booklight.

We have a basic incompatibility (we've been snarking about it for 42 years, so I guess it's not that important), however it does mean that I sit downstairs to read until late into the right, often falling asleep in the chair and waking at six a.m. with a stiff neck.
