Utter bull***. You should be ashamed of yourself. Read the
group charter, and nowhere will you find "And to provide a

I apologise if I've offended anyone on list. Thanks for the
constructive criticism Mike, although if your concerned with off
topic posting, I'd argue my initial post was more on topic than
either of your replies.
Your initial post was explicitly off-topic by the newgroup's
charter and FAQ. Mike's replies were in the nature of white
blood cell action.
Mike's the white blood cell. I'm the radiation treatment. I'll
cause you to mutate, and grow a large penis out of the middle of
your forehead. That way, I can kick you in the face and in the nuts
at the same time.
If the members of this newsgroup are not
constantly vigilant, it will be completely overrun by the
Blight, with every author of a novel, novellette, novella, short
story, poem, or limerick posting a plug here.
And every one of them will suck throbbing purple donkey ***. As
I'm sure yours does.
By showing a
ruthless devotion to Purity Of Newsgroup, we have a chance of
preventing rasw from becoming a completely useless sewer of
advertising. By responding to you harshly upon the first
offence, there's the possibility of discouraging five other
potential advertisers from polluting this group.
That being said, we do not hold a grudge,
Speak for yourself.
as long as the
offending behavior is not repeated. If you realize that you've
stepped on our toes and violated our mores and do not do it
again,
He's already called Mike a spammer to defend his own spamming. I'm
not holding my breath. This one's obviously stupider even than most
spammers, and most spammers are stupider than their shoes.,
you'll be more than welcome to stay and discuss written
science fiction.
Except the one you spammed for.
If you look at a nearby thread, you'll find
some folks mourning somebody who showed up spamming his vanity
press book. He eventually learned that you don't advertise here,
and became a participant in this group.
On the other hand, if you continue to defend your offense
against this newsgroup's mores, you will continue to be
attacked.
Relentlessly. And every single attack will spread the word even
further to *never* buy that shitty novel you're spamming for.
The choice is yours.
He's made his choice.
In all seriousness, let me know what they are. I can't be bothered
If you considered the initial post spam, then surely
ignoring it and letting it fade from usenet with no replies
creates less noise than repeated posts telling everyone how
spammy it is?
See above. There is at least a mild prophylactic effect.
Also, out of curiosity, I took a quick look at the profile of
your posts through google groups, and there seems to be a trend
towards confrontational posts, with other users actually rating
your posts, on average, as "Below average".
I have no idea how those ratings are determined. However, I do
know that Mike has been a member of this group for many years
and is a valued contributor.
Now, I'm curious. I need to go look a Terry's ratings.
to figure out what the *** he's jibbering about, but I am curious
as to whether or not they have a rating for "radioactive
bloodlust."
