No idea, but, circa 1985, I remember seeing a SF book cover with tanks

Any good? Did Israel cross the ocean to attack Texas, which would
pretty much meet the OP's criteria? Or vice versa?

I believe the Israelis were hired as mercenaries by Texas's actual
enemies, whom I have mercifully forgotten.

It was light MilSF fluff; if that plus the title make it sound like
something that might be good, then it's reasonably good.
