I don't see why. If anything, they're almost close to topical villains now.

Changing them would lose the point. What are you going to do, make them Nazis?




I would do quite the opposite. Make them extremely Arabian-Nights-y, to the point where it is obvious that they have no connection to any current nation or culture.
