I've never heard any Protestant say that. I have heard plenty
of Protestants say that the Catholic Church ascribes Mary an
excessively
exalted role. I think this is a genuine theological
difference, and
not just a case of misunderstanding the other's position.
Hm. Seems to me many protestants think the catholic church
ascribes the clergy in general, as well as various saints and
such, including Mary, an excessively exalted role. Sort of
what some of them were protesting about.
Once you start down the road to polytheism, it's hard to turn
back.
it?
This great teacher of whom you speak. Do you think it's possible he
might be the Messiah?
Of course He's the Messiah.
Wonderful news! He weill redeem Israel and...
And He's the Son of God.
The what?
The Messiah, who is the Son of God. As it was prophesied.
No it wasn't.
Yes, it was.
Look, friend, I happen to be a learned man. I've studied the Torah
forwards and backwards (you know, left-to-right, like a stupid Roman)
and there's nothing in it about the Messiah being the Son of God.
Sure there it. It was hidden from us.
Hidden from us?
Like in Isaiah, where it talks about the virgin bearing a Child.
It doesn't say "virign".
It does in Greek.
Greeks! To them "virgin" means she's never been screwed in her ....
Well, that's not the only one. The Torah's full of prophecies about
the Son of God. We just missed them all until now. Somehow. Anyway,
it's true. He's the Messiah and He's God.
God? I though you said (and that was plenty blasphemous enough) that
he was God's son.
Both.
Both?
He's God and God's Son. And the Messiah. All of it.
And a floor wax.
