He's a prick.

This web page does not support the claim he is a prick. But it also doesn't
support a claim he is a good writer. Clearly, though, some people like him
a lot.

He's a popular reader and sometime author for the Escape Pod
podcast, and this book was previously published in podcast form.
There's
a claim that this is the first time that a previously podcast book has
been
published in hardcover, and some sf podcasters seem excited about it.

I'd say he's an ok writer, based on the small sample of his work I've
heard.

I think its getting a little hypersensitive to call the OP 'spamming
by proxy'.
The author has had several books published, and not by vanity presses.
The OP is an established occasional poster to the group, not (AFAIK)
affiliated with the author or publisher, and the information was time
sensitive.

I didn't feel that my time and attention was being abused by the post,
and
I suspect that few people did.

Others may disagree, or course...
