Sigh. Read the replies already on-thread. He was immediately told that
"planck length" is applicable only to quantum physics, and irrelevant to
the discussion.

You can point out where this was said, right? Oh, wait, you can't.
The only thing anyone has said that I can see is this:

----begin----

In the first place you specified, and I therefore assumed, a Newtonian
universe, in which case you don't have a Planck length. In the second
place, pixelating things isn't exactly how it works.

----end----

Iow, no, it was not said that a planck length is applicable only to
quantum mechanics, merely that it was not applicable to Newtonian
mechanics. And this is not because of any weird quantum
indeterminacy, but merely because Newtonian mechanics assumes, among
other things, the existence of point masses, infinitely divisible
lengths, etc.

One could have discrete cellular automata following purely local,
purely deterministic rules, or one could have rules that are
fundamentally not deterministic.

The point remains, you knee-jerked on the most recent
entry in the thread, and ignored the prior history. Pointing at the most
recent entry a second, third, or Nth time doesn't change this.

No. The point remains that some people knee-jerked in making a
response to my response, which has got them into trouble. And you are
trying frantically to pretend otherwise, even going so far as to make
up dialogue that doesn't exist.

But maybe I'm being too critical; I'm willing to be convinced. Show
me where it is pointed out that a "Planck length" is only compatible
with quantum mechanics.
