The bigger concern is the current corporate shuffling and if NewLine
moves to the Warner Brothers division. and making low budget movies.
A low budget would kill any Hobbit movie
Hopefully Jackson has the clout to get the budget he needs.
and as of now, its gonna be Guillermo del Toro to direct the two
movies.
and in any case, Jackson is needed to get the two Ians to reprise
their roles.
they will also need WETA and to film on location down under

I just don't see Ian Holm doing young(er) Bilbo; the face-stretching
they did to give us 5 seconds of Bilbo finding the Ring expanded to two
movies worth would probably make John Rhys-Davies' makeup issues seem
trivial.

McKellan, Serkis, and Weaving reprising their roles? Certainly. You
want to write in some Legolas stuff for the Battle of Five Armies so
you can get Bloom in to up the fangirl quotient? Knock yourself out.

But you definitely need a younger actor for Bilbo.
