We just moved to Lincoln, NE from Washington DC (got a job at the
university) and frankly, I'm enjoying it.  After years of 1 1/2 hour
commutes (each way) and paying through the nose for a tiny apartment,
I'm enjoying the ten minute commute and the cheap rent, among other
things.

We may not stay here forever, but for now, it's just fine.  And not
all that flat, which surprised me!

Not a professor, thank the lord.  That path really would lead to
madness.  And gibbering.  Lots of gibbering.

Like turning a Typewriter Factory/warehouse/store/whatever into a
home?

I've seen the show, the architectural professor did a great job with
the 10000 square feet he had to play with.- Hide quoted text -

I like seeing homes made out of exotic buildings and unusual
structures.
It looks very SF.
My personal favorite is seeing homes made out of abandoned ICBM
missile
silos. You can google several websites about them.
or homes built into the ground and hills like Bag End of Hobbiton
