Hi All
I have recently been collecting back copies of 'The Mammoth Book of
Best New SF...' and adding them to the database at www.iblist.com
where it was pointed out by a member of the administrative team that
the stories (in the same order) were already on as 'The Year's Best
Science Fiction xxth Edition'
Locus seems to indicate that the Best New SF and Best Science Fiction
are just different names for the same book.
Is that correct?
More or less. The "Mammoth Book of Best New SF" series is the UK
edition of the Gardner Dozois "The Year's Best Science Fiction"
series, though it skipped the first four years iirc.
The content is the same in both, up to and including the editorials
Dozois put in; it may be UKised though.
N.B. there are also a few other "Mammoth Books of <foo> science
fiction; these are original anthologies unrelated to the Dozois
series.
