Your point is contra-indicated by the number of half-blood families. A
fairly large number, possibly more than half, of the Wizarding World has
not only met muggles, they've married them.
The typical half-blood family isn't a wizard married to a Muggle (though
there are cases of this, like Snape's parents and Seamus's parents); it's
a wizard married to a Muggle-born wizard, like Harry's parents and Tonks's
parents.
Wizards live hidden amongst Muggles so that fans can think "There
are wizards among us." Wizards are born to Muggles so fans can also
think "Maybe I'm one of them."
Ye gods, I hate the word 'Muggles' and all it implies. Every time I
read it I think of that scene in 'A Wizard of Earthsea' where the young
Ged is rebuked for making a stupidly dismissive remark about a skilled
craftsman, , just because the man's fine talents don't include magic..
That's exactly her point, dontchathink?
