I'm pretty sure she *can* sing, probably as well as, or better than,
Britney Spears. Of course, that's not saying much: it isn't a
competition for singing ability, but for stamina, and willingness to
let the record company have the money, and catchy tunes to sing, to
get the promotion and the airplay.

But like Britney Spears, due to her gossip column appearances, and
perhaps the plastic surgery that turned her into an ultra-paedomorphic
Animaniac, Paris Hilton just gets no respect.

The emotional turmoil triggered by her former fiance's betrayal of
their intimate moments together, leading to a climax with unsafe
operation of a motor vehicle, also helped, of course.
