Okay, so exactly where do we disagree now, let's boil it down.

My proposition is that Wells had a value system wherein

1)The morlocks "eat the rich" policy makes them more inhuman
2) The Eloi are still human enough for the Time Traveller to have
"mutual tenderness " for. Is that or is that not a romance? Let's us
not get side tracked. :-)

Wells in essence is FOR the working classes but nowhere are they
depicted as having any recognizable human traits.

I'd say rather that Wells' value system is one in which the master-
servant relationship degrades BOTH parties. However the worker, in
spite of his degraded status, is capable of change and improvement.


The Eloi still have gratitude and " mutual tenderness". :-)


OTOH, the Morlocks still have intelligence and adaptibility.

A socialist, self-preventing prophecy clearly addressed TO the upper
class, and not to the workers.


On that I agree.
