Yes, that is the version that I read. Thanks for the thorough summary.
It certainly brings back memories. Atleast for a child, the new
episode fitted in smoothly enough in the narrative. I wonder if Wells
stopped rolling in his grave though. :-)
Wells has probably been rolling for a good long time, not so much
because the future didn't turn out to follow his scenario (he
probably had the intelligence to realize there were a lot of
other possibilities), but because the future didn't turn out to
conform to his theories.
