I just saw an armored, fully autonomous vehicle on Discovery Channel's

The first Bolo? What would Keith have made of this?

He'd have said it was too small and too slow. Build its brains into
the frame of the NASA crawler/transporter after upgrading it so it can
do ~55 mph on unpaved terrain and arming/armoring it- then he'd say we
have something. ;>)

Jeeez. You guys want to go from birth to a full on sprint. It's baby-
steps, people! It has to start somewhere. I say that in 40 years, all
the tanks will be autonomous, and it's going to be programs like this
that get us there.

BOLO IS COMING!! (...in a century, or two...)

Yeah, yeah, I know, but a gearhead has dreams...

I, along with many others, wonder if Asimov or Williamson will be
proven right though. "Serve and Protect" can manifest in so many
different ways.
