While in the dentist's chair today, I thought of this thread. To take
my mind off the dentist scraping and gouging etc, I tried to think of
occurences of dentistry in SF. I came up with nix, nada, nothing.
Either I'm not as widely read as I thought and I've missed the whole D-
SF subgenre, or it's rare.

Piers Anthony's Prostho Plus, a series of shorts about a human dentist
working on aliens.

I'm pretty sure there was a bit of dentistry involved in James White's
Sector General series, but no details come to mind.

Various dental works can be inferred by the preponderance of
suicide-pill teeth, memory-metal-gun containing teeth,
blow-at-your-enemy nerve gas containing teeth and so on, but I can't
remember an occasion where refilling same was done on-page.
