Gregory House is from the TV show HOUSE, about an evil doctor
who has so convinced everyone that he is a diagnostic magician that
nobody but me spots the fact that the recurring pattern of "wrong
diagnosis" (case gets worse), rinse lather repeat until "wrong
diagnosis (patient nearly dies), followed "a sudden _correct_
revelation!" clearly means he's torturing his patients.

House comes from the inspiration "Holmes".

His watson and the human with the highest proven tolerance for
House's malevolent misanthropy is an oncologist named Wilson.

When House isn't mocking intergendered teens, he can
often be found in the company of his Duckling, who are to him what
the irregulars would have been to Holmes, had Holmes been a Haitian
plantation owner and the irreglars newly arrived Africans.

Dr. Allison Cameron: Pretty, smart and with a thing for damaged
or ideally dying men (thus far, she has not made the logical connection
as to how she can get men like that, although working with House she
doesn't need to). She's the immunologist.

Eric Foreman: smart and black. Foreman provides both his
expertise in neurology and a target for House's virulent racism,
disguised as "biting humor".

Robert Chase, specialzing in intensive care, is an amoral
sycophant, whose family has money while he has none. His attempts
to ingratiate himself with whoever looks most powerful at the moment
have been spoiled by bad timing and a general air more suited to some-
one who has been asked to perform oral sex on a carcass.
