In ye olde olden days, when one had a problem you reversed the polarity, you

like pert near sf question can be explained by nanobots.
Superhealing? Nanobots.
Superpowers? Nanobots.
Alien / mutant / monster / ghost creatures? Nanobots.
Shapeshifting black clouds on uncharted islands? Nanobots (or spores, if
TPTB can be trusted about the "no nanobots" edict).
Is there no problem or phenomena in SF that nanobots can't tackle?
Yes.
Transportation--Specifically faster than light travel, warps, wormholes,
black holes, parallel world hopping, time travel, etc.
Power--I don't see how nanobots can be used to create fusion plants or
fusion battery packs, etc., at best tangentially to finely focus lasers to
spark nuclear ignition at one exact location in 3d-space while compensating
from minute environmental vibrations.
Any other major or minor applications?
I am sure I can get them to remove the anchovies from the pizza, but
can they get rid of the lingering stench?
Of course:
Plan 1) Have the cloud of nanobots about your head filter out the
lingering 'anchovy stench' molecules.
Plan 2) Have your internal nanobots retune your sense of smell to make
'anchovy stench' smell like roses for the span of time it takes to
consume the pizza.
