Yeah, I thought that movie was something of a throwback at the time,
and was surprised it did as well as it did.
I wonder, was Candy Lightner [1] cause or effect? Did she
and MADD change society's views in the 1980s or did she simply found
MADD at a point in time when society would have headed in that direction
anyway?
I think she just came along at the right time. We've had
prohibitionists all along, it's just that usually they're ignored.
