Al Gore was the first victim of the Bush administration.<
First of all, there _was_ no "Bush Administration" until Bush won the
election. Secondly, losing an election is not normally considered
being a "victim" in any sense other than failing to be the "victor."
Gore lost by a hair and because of the structure of our electoral
system, but lost he did. He was thus a "victim" in precisely the same
sense as Nixon was in 1960 (Nixon _also_ lost by a hair and because of
the structure of our electoral system).
If the Democrats want to win the 2008 election, they have to stop
crying over their losses to the Evil Republicans and start putting
forward policy proposals that resonate with the voters. More whining
is a recipe for more defeats. And I'm not so fanatical a Republican
that I want the Republican Party to have it _all_ their way, forever.
Anyway, Gore's proposals (and those of environmentalism in general) to
stop global warming are damn near useless unless they reverse their
mistaken rejection of nuclear power.
I don't know about Gore but didn't some green biggie recently come out in
favor of nuclear power?
Ah, it was Patrick Moore, one of the founders of Greenpeace. I guess he's a
biggie.
