Three points:

1. It's *polite* to change the subject heading to match the actual subject.
It allows people to identify posts they'd be interested in. Nothing about

Amusingly enough, the thread "Computronium in Accelerando" that I
started a couple of days ago is currently appearing (to my
usually-competent newsreader) as 5 or 6 seperate threads, all named, you
guessed it.... Wayne, are you doing something weird?

2. One of Pete's posts generally contributes more to the group than the sum
total of everything you've ever posted. That's not hyperbole, by the way:
it's a strict accounting.
