What is the danger involved in simply walking into a storage closet
with a "No Admittance" sign on the door?

The point remains that there is a large

And as I've said before, simply adding a "Danger" sign to the entrance
to the shuttle would be a great improvement over a "No admittance".
Even if you don't list the specific dangers, or reference only the
particular regulation that explains the dangers (useful if the
regulation can be looked up), if something is very dangerous, put up a
"DANGER" sign rather than a "NO ADMITTANCE" sign. Agreed?
