AI technology. E.g. a limited number of reincarnations, and the rulers
wanting to physically pass through the safety wormhole, whereas the whole
population could have been transmitted through in virtual form.
And technically what they were using was uploading and VR; AI proper, well,
that was the 'chaos' they fought against.
The very name of the Earth faction was Reviler or Resiler or something,
indicating their rejectionism.
And the Feersum Endjinn itself, or wormhole making, yeah, I could be willing
to call those more advanced tech.
