Given who these guys are, I imagine they have the hard drive circuit
board unscrewed and held by duct tape for an easy swap in this very
situation.

Not quite the same thing but I own a bicycle lamp where replacing
batteries requires a screwdriver to remove a bolt. I decided "Never
mind that", so duct tape it is, one piece each side, with a
quick-release pull tab. Works fine. Sticks when I need it to stick,
unsticks when that's what I need.
