Re: Why John Ringo Threatens Science Fiction's Future

Alpha, schmalfa. The discussion's the thing; one can post one's thoughts,
and expect to read other folk's thoughts, just because it stirs the neurons.
Do people in book clubs think they are "arguing for a particular point",
or trying to get an author to change, when they go to their weekly meetings?
I don't think so. Maybe they do, some, but not really all that much, naict.

"I wish Heinlein wouldn't preach so much", or "I wish Lackey would
tone down the coming-of-age-angst a bit", despite the form, isn't really
an exhortation for them to change. Which in the former case is a good thing.
