There is a sub genre of fantasy where the genius computer programmer goes to
the other dimension and kicks ass. Others don't have his ability.
More commonly, magicians have to work very hard and be very smart (or
possibly very driven), in order to stand out. The magical Einstein's are
the super magicians. Ordinary physicists do magic as well. The vast
unwashed buy some spells.
