: Is this "Juniper Lee" a full-blown series?
Yes, a most excellent one; almost surprisingly excellent, IMO.
It's just chock full of nifty moments, yet has a nice balance
of an underlying story of sorts peeking through. I didn't expect
to like the animation style at first (the wideset eyes are creepy),
but it grew on me. Sort of Samurai Jack abstract style, sort of.
But with even better fight scenes IMO.

Hm. I read an interview with the series creator, but I can't seem
to find it with a quick google. Ah, I see the wikipedia article has a
quote which I recall from that interview (or at least a similar one):
"It's kind of like Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets The Simpsons.
That's the simplest way to put it. At the end of the day, it's
about a little girl who fights monsters. There's a rather massive
backstory to the whole thing, which really provides a spine to build
from. I've only tapped into it a little in the show, but for me,
knowing its there is important. The show needs a spine, and needs a
place to work from." - Judd Winick
And IMO, he's not bragging much in making that comparison.
There's also an episode guide on the wikipedia page. The cartoon network
site gives the visual appearance for it, and has a clip or two. Oh foo,
the clips don't play for me. Oh well, probably a plugin issue, sigh.
Sunday after next, episode 13, "Magic Con -- The triennial convergance
brings magical creatures from all over to listen to June speak".
And while I'm thinking of it (and you give me an excuse), see also
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. I think some folks would find
it off-putting, but it's clever, and has loads of SF references; the
episode this week, for example, has a beauty pageant, with judgements
on things like poise, swimsuit, and Gom Jabbar ("it burns! it burns!"
"oh, she's going to lose points for that one"). Plus a 2001 "it's full of
stars" sequence, with Mandy in the role of the monolith. It's a hoot.
Even though Billy mostly goes for gross-out humor, not to my taste.
Oh well.
Come to think of it... both Juniper and Mandy episodes this
week had Powerpuff references... coincidence?
Or something more sinister?
Juniper: <using phone and TV at the same time>
<to phone> Listen, I've got like 300 episodes of the
Powerpuff Girls on tape and tons of other things to do and
<quick aside to TV> -- GET 'EM BUBBLES!!! --
<back to phone> uh, I'll call you later, OK?
vs
Professor: Girls, girls, get up! Mojo Jojo just
snuck into a movie theater without paying!
Grimm: We're on it, Professor.
<Grimm, Billy, Mandy, fly way PPG style>
OK, we keep flying, we never head back,
we never talk about this again.
Billy: Yep.
Mandy: Uh-huh.
Now if I could just cut and paste the closed captioning
instead of retyping it... oh well.
But I digress.
