Why did you name the character Byron?

It's a play on words that becomes a bit clearer later.

It's not really all that clear to me and I've seen all of season 5...
any ideas?

I've seen this explained by JMS somewhere, perhaps check the Usenet
archives on the Lurker's Guide?

Anyway, it runs something like this:

Byron (the character) is named for Lord Byron (the poet). As the
series develops, Byron (the character) develops something of a Christ
complex hence the rather tenuous link between (Lord) Byron and (Lord)
Jesus Christ.

It's no coincidence that Byron (the character) has followers named
Peter, Simon and Thomas (who doubts him).
