I really don't believe they would go to the trouble of remastering
tracks to remove the commentaries after the first issue. <<
Oh, but they did.
My set came in the recent Amazon UK [exclusive] re-packing of 'The Complete
Collection', that now includes 'The Lost Tales' and is a lot smaller than
the normal set entitled 'The Complete Universe' - so this should definitely
be the 2nd pressing of Crusade. This set says 'Commentaries on two key
episodes' but does not list whose commentaries they are, or what episodes
they're on. TBH, I've not got round to attempting to play the commentaries
yet, so I don't know what, if anything, is on them.
So am I right in thinking that the later pressings contain no commentaries
(yet the box art still claims they're there), or are the later pressings
restricted to two commentaries....neither which belong to JMS? This is the
first I've heard of this, so I'm in the dark. I did hear about the original
argument over them, but never followed it up and found out what happened
with the actual DVD's.
