Re: Day of the Dead: my review

I loved seeing Morden again, but again he has no emotional history with Lennier. Morden and Vir or Neroon and Lennier would have been a better combination. Neroon could have given the same advice, just not given the funniest line of the night (the one about being prophetic).

I don't think Neroon's appearance would have had nearly the same impact on Lennier, though. I get the feeling there was always at least some small amount of respect that Lennier had for Neroon - for Neroon's dedication to his caste, his respect for Delenn, his ultimate sacrifice for his people... I wouldn't be surprised that Neroon was someone Lennier had been hoping or expecting to "make an appearance".

Lennier was to receive the most shocking and disturbing news of all the characters we saw visited... and as such it needed to be delivered BY the most shocking and disturbing character.

For it to have the same ultimate payoff, it also had to be delivered by the most unbelievable character. If it had been Neroon or someone else Lennier trusted, even minutely, he would have gone around with the niggling belief in his mind that maybe, just maybe, he actually could betray the Anla'Shok... and would have recognized where his actions were leading before he did them.

Instead, he received his "prophecy" from the one person he knew to be truly evil, to be completely untrustworthy, the one person he KNEW he could never believe for anything. So he KNEW that the things Morden told him would do, couldn't possibly be true... even AS he was doing them... right up until the realization hit him that he HAD done them, when it was nearly too late.
