<BEG> I was thought mad when I announced that science is an art (while
in student teaching). I do believe this. There is a very creative
process involved in the thought process that leads to ideas such as
relativity etc. In fact, many scientists at the upper caliber are
musical or artistic in the more traditional sense.

Sames true of math. But I suspect only those who like math may
understand why I say think this.

Science is just the Latin word for knowledge.

I don't think science is an art, but the way in which one approaches science
can be artistic/creative.
Perhaps that's picking nits?
