Unfortunately, the underlying technology that runs UseNet (i.e. newsgroups) is ancient by electronic standards and cannot provide the necessary levels of control to do what would truely be needed. The moderation system UseNet provides is simplistic and weak.

Although "newer" methods may not be the ideal, they may be the necessary for future interaction with JMS if he deems it so.

Worst case, I'd hope that JMS would do an announce-only site. Interactive features would need to be implemented carefully with an eye towards control.

I'm willing to help where I can (web space, programming, whatever). I've dealt with various blogging and forum packages before...plus anyone remember my Encyclopedia?
