Re: Anyone watching 4400?

It is alleged that Adam H. Kerman claimed:

Creepy Isabelle was creepier as a baby, though. They could have done more
with that. I have a feeling that she may not be evil, per se, but capable of
great destruction simply because she's a willful child who will never grow
up.

I'm reminded of the central plot of "Good Omens". The child was
planned to be Evil Incarnate, but was semi-suborned by the Forces of
Good in an attempt to make it Good Incarnate. Due to the equal
influence of both sides, the child became... Human Incarnate.

How was Matthew convinced to choose sides by the beings in the future? How

How was Tom convinced?

on earth did they expect him to train Isabelle as they gave him no way of

From what I've seen so far this season, which is my first season of the
show, I don't think he was training her so much as trying to guide her
mentally and emotionally to come down on "his" side when push comes to
shove.

controlling her? You'd think they would have built a daughter for him rather
than Richard.

If it was his own daughter, odd are he'd be too emotionally attached to
her to make the threats and suggestions he did with Isabelle. Besides,
she has to be a child of a 4400 mother for this to work. Mathew wasn't
a 4400.

If the beings in the future can create instant superpowers in just about
anyone, wouldn't their society be in a state of constant warfare, if not
chaos? Seems to me that there would be a lot more than just two sides. Is
the purpose of the 4400s to prevent the human conversion technology from
being created in the first place, in which case the future society would be
destroyed rather than saved?

Or... perhaps Mathew's side is the right one, and the 4400 were created
to cause the future catastrophe, not prevent it. Also, who says that
the abilities seen were what was intended? Maybe it's a wild thing,
with no way to predict what each person will be able to do?

Hm, except they had already aged Isabelle at the end of last season,
whereas they didn't know they were losing Laura Allen until they tried to
get her back for this season.

Why did they kill her off? I don't see a credit for her in the future
production of another tv series. Anyone know?

From the credits and stuff online that I've seen, the actress who
played Lily left the show between seasons. So to explain her leaving,
they killed her off, on screen using an older actress, and aged
Isabelle further. Those same reports said that Isabelle was going to
be speed-aged anyway, though probably not quite so much.
