M Night Shamylan started his film career by "just" writing...After watching "Signs" I kinda wish he stuck with it.
As one person said, Night has been cursed with his own success. In
"The Sixth Sense", the surprise at the end was a major element of the
story.
After I saw "The Sixth Sense" I started to wonder what people thought
the surprise was.
That the shrink was a ghost? I figured that was so obvious throughout
that I would be surprised at others being surprised.
I didn't realize it until the end. But then, I wasn't looking for
anything. I didn't know that there was a "surprise ending", so I pretty
much took things at face value.
