Well, to some degree this is a matter of perspective. For old-time
home theater enthusiasts, the new set is a serious bargain. As someone
at The Home Theater Forum put it:

THE EMPIRE SRIKES BACK widescreen LaserDisc from CBS/Fox: $79.98
RETURN OF THE JEDI widescreen LaserDisc from CBS/Fox: $79.98

Being able to buy all three films' original versions on widescreen
anamorphic DVD including the 2004 revisions for less than the price of
a single LaserDisc: PRICELESS
