Just an FYI, if you've gone and developed relationships with people in
a particular forum, wouldn't you want to leverage that in your
announcement, so we realize this is someone we know (and whose
creative efforts we may be interested in) as opposed to a random
stranger with whom we have no investment, emotional or otherwise?
That's something I've gleaned from my various marketing efforts
online.

Coming in under the mask of anonymity completely defeats that.
