There are a lot of reasons people may choose to stay anonymous.
As I said before, my reasons are my own.

I wasn't asking for "artificial" linking. However, if folks do like
the site, then linking to it increases it's ranking in google. Do a
google search on proverbial cat and you'll see there is a lot of
competition out there. In the CafePress tutorial section on how
to generate business they state:

That's all I was asking. If you like the shop, have a web page,
and would be willing to link to it, I'd appreciate it. Nothing more.
There are a lot of folks who simply don't realize the way in which
search engine ranking occurs and wouldn't have thought
about adding a link from their own page.
As for the rest of your rant, well, I haven't the time or energy
to reply to it. You obviously have some very strong feelings
that are the result of events pre-dating my post and they are
just as obviously filtering your perceptions of me and what I
have to say. When people are so emotionally invested in a
position they tend to defend it to the death. I've had my
fill of these kinds of battles. Which is one of the reasons
I went into lurker mode.
Adieu.
