That sounds like a great cause. When I teach the AARP Defensive
Driving class, I give them some places to get a free cell phone. To
donate locally, you can also consider your Office of the Aging, Red
Cross and local police or sheriff. If you want to scare some up to
donate, consider your friends or children who may have upgraded. Check
your local cell phone store for the old analog phones they don't want
to sell anymore. Tell them they are for emergency use only for poor or
disabled.
Some of you may not know that you need NOT activate the phone.
You're already paying for them on your land line. The FCC requires all
phones, pay and cell too, to have 911 access 24x7.
