Not sure if this is the first time Mxy as the kid has been suggested:

http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36983

But at least yours is the first articulate and well-developed
formulation.

Interesting, but...

The post is dated May 25, 2005, which confused the heck
out of me for an instant.  Then I realized it's indeed from
more than a year before the movie was released and based
on script spoilers.  In that context -- fandom seeing something
in the spoilers that sounds so bad they hope it's not what it
appears -- it doesn't surprise me that much that someone
might speculate or hope that it's a Mxy trick.

The post itself is pretty incoherent though and one response
makes a quip to that effect, saying it needs to be translated.

I'd be interested in any other references you can come up
with AFTER the movie's release, suggesting Mxy was a way
to deal with the kid in an SR sequel.  SR clearly doesn't
intend, or suggest in any way, that the kid is Mxy.  The
only reason it occurred to me as workable was because
of the whole context of Brainiac's Revenge -- of it having
a backstory that was perfectly suited to fixing the problems
with SR -- and my having planned Mxy for the follow-up
movie.  Without that kind of context I think it's tougher to
come up with the concept or think it'll work.  But maybe
others have also suggested it.

These 2007 supermanhomepage posts are the closest thing I could find:

"Pocket Zod" mentions the idea, saying someone else thought of it:

"Uncle Sam" takes credit:

http://tinyurl.com/6ozedb

But "Pravus" says it was actually his idea, and it had a twist:

http://tinyurl.com/6zhe8n

There is a lack of context with all of them, especially as I could not
find the earlier post that "Pravus" references. So I'm not sure what
he meant by "a twist," and he also dismisses his own "Jason Mxyzptlk"
idea as a joke anyway. So I can't say that anyone before has
suggested the concept in a way resembling your idea, just that it has
been mentioned once or twice after SR's release.
