Bad experience with David Silveus from Cincinnati Sci-Fi

I'm just posting this to get it archived. This place has become a
ghost town but I want my experience to be accessible to any potential
customers of this guy.
Anyways, back in early March, 2006 I bought a baggie C-3PO figure from
David Silveus (Silvius). His e-bay id is cincinnatiscifi. My only
fault was that I mailed him my payment and forgot to include the item
number. I received a letter from him asking for the item#. So far,
so good but here's where the drama begins. I email the item# to him
the same day I receive his letter. Fast-forward 5 WEEKS and I still
have nothing. During these 5 weeks I sent him several e-mails asking
about the status of my item. I get zero responses. I even call his
store several times. His "employees" can never give me a clear answer
as to when or if my package was sent.
I feel I have choice and I file for an "Item never received" claim
against him. He is forced to reply to that, and he is quite rude with
his reponse claiming it's my fault for the delay. He's had my item#, my
address and my money for at least 5 weeks and he has the nerve to blame
me for the delay?
By a miracle of God, I'm able to squeeze a tracking# out of him. I
find out my package was "undeliverable" and was sent back to him. I
call his store and one his staff says they'll re-ship the figure again.
The package finally arrives by the 6th week. My elation turns to
frustration again when I open the padded envelope and discover the
baggie has a bunch of holes in it.
During this 6 week period, I've probably sent 8-10 emails and called
his store 4 times. He's only responded to me twice and only because he
was forced to because of my e-bay claim. I mailed the baggie back to
him. I didn't bother to contact him first because I realized he avoids
answering any emails. His e-bay feedback is not very good and I'm sure
there are a lot of other customers trying to contact him. He just
sticks him head in the sand and pretends everything is fine.
About a week later, I send him my last email asking if he received the
damaged baggie and when he could send a replacement figure. Here's his
response:
No, we are not reshipping a replacement.
Shipping is $3.50 if you want another. We are done wasting our time
with you. We have tried to be nice.
1st-You sent cash without saying what for.
2nd- You gave us a bogus address and we had to reship at our cost when
it was returned to us.
3rd-We gave you the stated product and you returned it without even
asking if a return was OK.
You can do what you want. Want to trade negative feedback no problem. I
did not authorize you to return the item therefore your item is sitting
in Cincinnati. If you want it you need to pay postage.
We have bent over backwards for you and you have done stupid things and
acted like a jerk.
Dave
What pisses me off the most is that I was sooooooooo patient with Mr.
Silveus. I made an effort to write all my emails very politely even
though I really wanted to curse him out. I was also very polite when I
called his store and talked to his employees like Ted and John. The
package was undeliverable the first time because David has the
handwriting of 3 year old. It's very illegible which caused the first
package to be sent back. His claim that I gave a bogus address is
ridiculous. Who would want to scam him out of a $4.00 C-3PO figure?
Then he has nerve to claim I should have asked for his "authorization"
first before I sent back the damaged figure. The dude never answers his
emails so why should he expect me to send him a message? So I could be
a chump and wait for his response that will never come?
I took a thorough look at his feedback. I wish I did this earlier
before I bought from him. He apparently puts more effort into trash
talking and retailiatory negatives rather than rectifying a bad deal.
I also did a google/yahoo search and his name come up quite a bit from
unhappy customers. He's obviously got personal issues. This is by far
one of the worst experiences I've had trying to buy a SW item. It's not
even about the money or the figure anymore. This was about being
treated very poorly by a petty person.
If anybody's still here, thanks for listening.
