Putting a different interpretation on "back", what puzzles me is the
white flags on white-tailed deer. Invariably, these very-conspicuous
flags go up at the precise instant that you'd expect the creature to
sneak off unseen.

I've also seen pictures of a white-rumped deer-like African animal,
and I think there are other white-rumped critters.

So how come these guys don't get weeded out the way albinos do?
