Using known physics and plasiable (highly) advanced tech, how would
you go about “blowing up” a star? Or at least temporarly destabling
it to generate a (super) flare that would roast a planet? In one of
the earily Man-Kzin, books there was an Earth bussard ramjet that was
headed towards kzinti occupited Wunderland, there was some concern
that the ship will pass by the Wunderland’s sun and destablize it? Is
that possible? Is the ramjet magnetic scoop that would cause it or the
relativistic mass from its velocity? What else can destablize a
star? Massive amounts of Anti-matter? Hydrogen?
Crash black hole into it.
