What do you mean by "dissipate", become indistinguishable from the
medium the ship is traveling through?
Essentially I mean "becoming harmless enough for other ships to fly
through".
1 MeV is 11,800K so until the medium's temperature is on that order
it shouldn't affect it "much".
I wasn't actually aware of converting eV to temperature until now, but
now as I looked it up, it says 1eV=11600K, so wouldn't 1MeV actually
be 11 Gigakelvin?
Yes, the conversion factor is the Boltzmann constant.
Which gives me the opportunity to tease my new units tool:
>>> si.eV = 1.60217646e-19*si.J
>>> si.MeV = 1e6*si.eV
>>> print k
1.380658e-23 J/K
>>> print (si.MeV/k).convert(si.K)
11604441215.7 K
