You're off by a few orders of magnitude there; even
just the three richest men have a net worth equal to about

give every person on the planet $2 a year, which as of 2003
over three billion people earned less than
Errr, are you sure about this? I often hear people talking about earning
less than one dollar a *day* in the various give-me-money cries for help
advertisements, but I've not heard of any significant portion of the world
population earning less than two dollars a *year*, much less half of the
entire population.
