Weather from another world

(This is based on some previous worldbuilding noodling conducted here
a few years ago.)

Take an inhabitable moon in orbit of a Jupiter-like gas giant, with
more or less optimal conditions: the moon isn't completely tide-locked
(perhaps it has been unlocked), atmosphere-retaining gravity, a decent
magnetic field (perhaps installed by colonists), liquid water oceans.
The moon's and primary's magnetic fields intersect, producing lovely
aurorae all day long.

Would this intersection also mean a lot of storms? Or at least
lightning? What I would love is if it produced a permanent storm front
that follows the gas giant across the moon's sky, a thunder and
lightning storm stretching almost from pole to pole. Is this
realistic?
